I think beancounting like this only leads to more problems. We're both very happy, nobody's out here "counting weekly hours" spent on getting food or who touched how many dishes yesterday.

My gf cooks, does the dishes, does the laundry, and works hard around the house I build vegetable gardens, repair the asphalt and interlock, pressure wash the house, and work hard around the house. But if an employed mother spends 2.5hrs on chores a day, and an employed father spends 1.5hrs on chores, but the woman works 33hrs a week and the man works 40, how is that not basically an even split? (Men work an average of 7hrs a week more than women.) Yes, women do generally do the lion's share of housework, even if they're employed, and men should contribute more at home. I'll be honest, I have mixed feelings about the concept.
